Recycled corrugated liners
Schoellershammer is a paper mill in Düren, Germany, that produces base paper for containerboard. IPP offers Wellenstof and Testliner in various grammages and Hammerliner, Hammerflute – the high performance line that can replace virgin fiber in some cases. Twinhammer is a dual-use liner that can be used as both wellen dust and testliner. Schoellershammer’s papers are used, among other things, in corrugated cardboard which in turn is used as transport and industrial packaging; but also in boxes for very different purposes such as fruits and vegetables. It is also used as the base material for honeycomb cardboard, which is used in the automotive and furniture industries, among others.
Schoellershammer has a great sense of responsibility for nature, people and the region. By processing about 550,000 tons of waste paper from the region into new packaging paper, Schoellershammer’s products consist of 100% recycled paper. In this way, they save raw materials and make an important contribution to the closed loop.
In addition to the existing 5-meter machine for grammages 120 to 170 g/m², Schoellershammer installed a new 5.6-meter machine in late 2016 that produces – mainly – the lower grammages of 80 to 120 g/m². This PM6 is a state-of-the-art machine with 100% Voith technology, rewinder, automatic conveyors and packaging line and a new Power plant. Schoellershammer has a fully automated high-bay warehouse with storage capacity of 10,000 tons, from which continuous truck loading takes place.
