Sealable paper
Sealable paper – also known as heat sealable paper – seals a package and helps protect the packaged product and maintain freshness. The paper has a coating on one side, often a thin layer of heat-resistant PE coating or a more durable dispersion coating. Paper coated with a dispersion coating is rated as a mono-material and – according to the strictest regulations – can be recycled with waste paper. The coating is activated by a heat sealing process, causing it to adhere to the surface.
IPP supplies sealable paper suitable as primary and secondary packaging. It’s material is versatile and can be used for food packaging, pharmaceuticals and non-food items. Additional barrier coatings can be added to some sealable papers to provide protection against moisture, grease or gases. This improves the performance of the packaging material, especially in applications where barriers are important.
